After School Educator

Job Summary: Works with the Club EdVenture Site Lead, Club EdVenture Educators, Supervisor and Director to implement quality off-site elementary school after school programs with a focus on mentorship, STEAM education, and health and nutrition.  
Work Schedule and Conditions: Weekly schedule of up to 20 hours per week, Monday- Friday between the hours of 2:00-6:00 p.m. (occasional morning work available). Frequently required to assist in lifting and carrying heavy objects and materials. 
Primary responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:
1.   Travel to sites of programs daily (all after school sites are located within Richland School District One)
2.   Work with staff to create a welcoming environment for students that is clean and conducive to learning.
3.   Actively supervise program participants at ALL times.
4.  Prepare and carry out materials for daily STEAM and CATCH (physical fitness) curricula.
5.   Interact appropriately with children during all phases of the day.
6.   Manage student behavior at sites as appropriate for each child age and stage of development
7.   Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students.
8.   Treat each child with respect and dignity. Be supportive of cultural differences and different family structures.
9.   Interact and communicate with the site’s staff, students, parents, school officials, and district administration in a professional manner at all times.
10. Maintain cleanliness and organization through the educational space.
11. Assist the Club EdVenture Site Lead with mandatory weekly paperwork (including but not limited to: weekly attendance rosters, snack rosters, CACFP and photo release documentation)
12. Properly maintaining all materials including ordering, quality control, and inventory.
13. Build and sustain strong relationships with community partners, principals, school officials, and other appropriate groups.
14. Participate in and help implement Family Literacy events. 
15. Participate in department, staff, and professional development meetings.
16. Participate in special activities and other projects as needed and performs related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent, currently earning a BA/BS in education or child development (preferred but not required). Must have strong organization and communication skills, pleasant personality, good interpersonal skills, professional and groomed appearance, commitment to diversity, ability to work as a team player, ability to meet deadlines, discretion and good judgment in daily activities.
