Retail Management Trainee


Retail Management Trainee (RMT)

As a Retail Management Trainee, we will teach you how to lead our customer-centric culture, and how to effectively communicate with customers, vendors, co-workers, and leaders. You'll learn merchandising techniques, standard practices and problem-solving skills. You'll be responsible for understanding cost control, reading your store's P&L statement and understanding what it takes to run a profitable business. In your development to become a dynamic leader at Food Lion, you'll learn how to mentor, develop and lead and your own team of associates.

Our RMT program is a one-year training program that prepares participants, to be able to pursue future career opportunities across the organization while gaining critical in-store leadership experience. Food Lion’s current President and other executives throughout our organization are RMT graduates.

Description:

  • Training phases include fresh, center store and support departments
  • Collaboration on a strategic project at the end of year one
  • Exposure to various retail locations focused on a diversified training experience
  • Gain valuable mentors that will help guide your career path
  • Recommend solutions to corporate issues through a long-term, strategic project

  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree, minimum GPA 3.0 is required
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and qualities 
  • Involvement in extracurricular activities
  • High learning agility and a passion for results
  • Problem solving, decision making and financial analysis skills
  • Permanent employment authorization/ US citizenship
