Summer 2019 Internship Program - IT Integration (ETL Development)

IT manages all of our technology, from our point of sale systems in DSW stores to the desktop computer at home office and everything in between. They keep us connected in all areas of the business!
 
Our IT Integration (ETL Development) team has an internship opportunity available for Summer 2019. At the end of the program, the interns will have a better understanding of the IT function within DSW.
 
  • Internships will begin Summer 2019 (Mid to late May) and last for 12 weeks.
  • All interns are full-time, paid positions
  • All interns must be able to pay for their own housing and transportation while in Columbus
  • Only the candidates who meet the internship requirements will be contacted for interviews
  • All interns will be required to complete a project at the end of the internship program
  • This opportunity is only open to Sophomore, Junior, and Senior candidates at this time, local candidates preferred
  • Relocation and housing expenses will not be covered by DSW
 
Responsibilities
  • Build, review and analyze the ETL requirements
  • Design, develop, implement and assist in validating ETL processes
  • Create and execute unit test plans based on system and validation requirements
  • Troubleshoot ETL processes
  • Document all ETL related work per company's methodology
  • Maintain existing code and fix bugs when needed
  • Ensure all timeline of loading/validating data are met
  • Develop mapping / sessions / workflows
  • Determine the structure of data; experience in data analysis
  • Self-manage time and task priorities to meet project timelines and identify potential project risks
  • Handle multiple work-related tasks
  • Write and optimize SQL code and stored procedures
  • Self-manage time and task priorities and of other developers on the project
 
Qualifications
  • Minimal experience in Informatica development. 
  • Informatica development experience includes the ability to understand reusability, parameterization, workflow design, etc.
  • Scripting skills (shell or perl)
  • Minimal understanding of Informatica Powercenter
  • Previous Teradata and/or Oracle database experience preferred
  • Possess a hunger for knowledge
  • Have a proactive and deliberative mindset towards success
  • Knowledge of Retail Industry a plus
  • Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills
  • Collaborate with team members on new projects and ideas
  • Possess ability to communicate clearly with project team
  • Highly motivated – requires minimal supervision
