Summer 2019 MDOT SHA Transportation Intern

What is SHA?
The Maryland State Highway Administration is a transportation business unit under MDOT. We are a state government agency which operates, maintains and rebuilds the numbered, non-toll routes in Maryland's 23 counties – more than 17,000 lane miles and 2,570 bridges. The SHA roads carry 60 percent of the state's traffic, and many accommodate non-motorized users as well. The SHA delivers more than $1 billion of work annually that is competitively awarded to private entities, sustaining thousands of jobs in the highway industry for contractors, suppliers, engineering firms and small and minority businesses. The agency’s headquarters is located in Baltimore City, with additional facilities across the state.
We are currently recruiting for positions in the 2019 Summer Transportation Internship Program (TI). This program provides an opportunity to gain valuable professional experience and skills that will complement your academic pursuits.  It also offers experience in an office or field setting designed to strengthen a student’s understanding of the transportation industry and prepares them for future public service opportunities.  Students provide a benefit to the SHA by supplementing the workforce during the busy summer season.
