SAPE Peer Educator
Our peer educators are a diverse group of students selected to provide education on alcohol, drugs and addiction to other UofSC students. They encourage healthy decisions, promote low-risk use and help reduce stigma. Experiences with SAPE Peer Educators counts towards Graduation with Leadership Distinction requirements.
The time commitment is 5 hours per week, including meetings, presentations, and events. Initial and ongoing training is provided.
Requirements: minimum 2.5 GPA, open-minded to different experiences and perceptions about substance use, involved on campus.
- Advocate for healthy decisions about alcohol and other substances.
- Facilitate substance misuse prevention workshops, presentations and programming.
- Participate in weekly meetings, presentations, events and other scheduled functions.
