CAREER COUNSELOR

Epworth seeks a qualified individual who will, under regular supervision, provide academic and career counseling to residents. This individual will help residents set realistic academic and career goals and develop a plan to achieve them. He/She will use aptitude and achievement assessments to help clients evaluate their interests, skills, and abilities and will guide clients through making decisions related to careers and post-secondary planning. He/She will also facilitate job skills training sessions to assist clients in locating and applying for jobs, interviewing, networking and problem solving. 
Qualifications: Assoicate’s Degree or equivalent with previous experience as a career counselor required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Required Skills: Previous experience with middle and high school aged children and a keen ability to build relationships with youth through patience, compassion and understanding; experience with career counseling/advising to include the use of software and resources related to career assessments and personality profile testing; demonstrated ability to use sound judgement in developing and implementing decisions; strong classroom management skills and previous experience facilitating both individual and small group sessions; strong inter-personal, listening and speaking skills; must be able to pass standard background checks and pre-employment drug test.
This is a part-time position with hours in the afternoons and early evenings. Some weekend hours may be necessary.
