Event Services/Programming Intern

Description of the Position: Provide support services to both the Event Services Department & Arena Programming/Marketing Department. Assist the Event Coordinators with the event coordination of Concerts, Family Shows, Miami HEAT Games and small scaled events such as meetings, trainings, Court of Dreams, rehearsals etc.; collaborate and assist the Programming Department with marketing and advertising campaigns for Concerts, Family Shows and other Arena events.  

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Review Event Booking Forms and prepare Event Worksheets as assigned.
  • Assist with preparing staffing deployments, creating event estimates & final event invoices for small-scale events. 
  • Review Technical Rider and join Event Managers with advancing show with Promoter and/or clients. 
  • Assist Event Managers with coordinating VIP Parties, Event Sponsorship Activations, Radio Station placement. At times act as the onsite contact on behalf of the Event Manager.
  • Act as a Dressing Room Coordinator, as needed for shows.
  • Create event specific signage and other show duties as necessary.
  • Conduct building walk-throughs for all building events.
  • Provide creative ideas, implement and develop Marketing & Advertising campaigns for Arena events. 
  • Collect, analyze and research data from marketing campaigns. 
  • Monitor industry for latest trends, news and ideas.
  • Research and develop plans/ideas for promotional items and gifts (add for artists?)
  • Daily Administrative duties as assigned. 
Must be available for the duration of the internship from July 8th, 2019 – July 7th, 2020 to be considered. Internship requires irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays. Must be enrolled in a college or university in an Event Management or Sports Management program with experience in Marketing to be considered for internship. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
