Summer 2020 Digital and Interactive Internship

**All Summer 2020 Internship application deadlines have been extended to NOVEMBER 15TH, 2019 AT 5:00 P.M. PT to accommodate those affected by wildfires in Arizona, California, Colorado, and Utah.**

Each year, The Seattle Times offers a series of paid summer internships to outstanding students eager to build a career in journalism. For 10 weeks, our interns attend training sessions with members of our Pulitzer Prize-winning staff members to work on a variety of real-world assignments at an established, renowned metropolitan newspaper and website. Next summer, consider joining our news team and be paid to train in your chosen profession at the Pacific Northwest’s leading daily news media organization.

Interested? Internships are open to Juniors and Seniors (including graduating Seniors!) attending a four-year college or university, as well as graduate students. Applicants must be journalism majors or have a demonstrated commitment to print or online journalism, possess social media skills, and be digitally astute. Internship experience at other news organizations is preferred, but not required.

Qualifications
  • Applicants must have some prior programming experience (JavaScript preferred) and familiarity with HTML/CSS.
  • Knowledge of WordPress, Excel, and/or SQL a plus.

  4. Include five samples of your work or a link to portfolio that contains samples to showcase your skills. No more than five samples are allowed. Please collect any content and include this as one file, with any associated links included being accessible and not behind a paywall.


Pay
As a paid position, this internship pays $16.00 per hour.
