The University of South Carolina’s Student Health Services (SHS) is offering student assistant positions for up 20 hours per week for the Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 semesters. The student assistant supports the mission of Student Health Services through customer service at the front desk in the new health center. 
SHS is comprised of several major units or departments including Thomson Student Health Center (Primary Care, Sports Medicine, Women’s Health, Vision Care, Pharmacy, Radiology and Laboratory Services), Healthy Campus Initiatives, Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention & Prevention and Counseling & Psychiatry. These units work closely together to offer holistic, patient-centered care to our student population in support of their academic success.
Candidate must have a positive attitude and ability to communicate effectively.  
While not a requirement for this student assistant position, candidates with public health, communications or related majors are preferred.
The student assistant schedule is Monday-Friday for what their availability is and every other Sunday. Sunday shifts are a requirement.
The student worker position pays $8.50 an hour for 15-20 hours a week depending on volume of work for the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 semesters. 

Position responsibilities may include:
Writing:
·        Social media posts for the @UofSCSHS Facebook, Twitter & Instagram pages.
Customer Service:
·        Greet patients as they enter the new health center.
·        Direct patients to their appointments.
·        Provide tours if necessary of new building.
·        Provide assistance with online scheduling
Miscellaneous
·        Get to know the Patient Centered Medical Home approach and how to convey information about it to students.
·        Monitor public health, college health and media trends to determine opportunities for improved communication, strategy or relaying of information.
