Structural Engineer

Structural Engineer Position Available
 
 
Bailey and Son Engineering, Inc. is a consulting engineering firm looking for a full-time or part-time structural engineer to design industrial and commercial projects. Candidate will:
 
1.    Establish and determine cost-efficient structural systems and components
2.    Design buildings and structures using structural steel, reinforced concrete, reinforced masonry, and wood framing. 
3.    Design equipment and PEMB foundations, and CFS components
4.    Perform structural assessment of existing facilities.
5.    Coordinate with architectural and mechanical drawings.
Typical projects:
1.   Light and heavy manufacturing facilities and structures
2.   K-12 school and collegiate facilities – academic / educational facilities and sports arenas and stadiums
3.   Power and utility, water and wastewater
4.   Municipal and civic projects, office buildings, medical facilities and hospitals, ecclesiastical facilities
Good written and verbal communications are necessary since the position will be filled with a person who can:
1.    Prepare technical reports
2.    Manage and work with designers
3.    Communicate verbally and coordinate with owners, architects, and other professionals as well as contractors for design-build and design-bid projects. 
Structural software currently used in-house includes RAM Structural System, Revit Structure, RISA, AutoCAD software, Enercalc, etc. Drawings are produced with both AutoCAD and Revit Structure software. Microsoft Excel, Word, and MathCAD programs are also utilized.
 
Self-motivation, self-discipline, and technical knowledge are needed to successfully fill this position. However, honesty and integrity are foremost on the list of qualifications. The degree of success in performing the job is only limited by the candidate.
 
Education: B.S. in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on structural engineering preferred
New graduates, students earning their master’s degree and experienced professionals will be considered
Location: Greenville, SC
Compensation: Commensurate with experience
