Summer Intern - Commodity SQL DBA
Position Purpose: Improve our long-term efficiency by designing and building SQL databases to manage our dairy supply, demand and price data while gaining experience with economic data use and management
Location: Remote
Primary Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
- Understand how we are currently tracking and using our data, starting with our import/export data (roughly 11 million data points)
- Design and build a system to load existing and new data into a SQL database
- Design and build a system to extract the data from the database and put it in Excel to power our forecasting models and reports
- Work proactively with our small team of analysts and economists
- This list of responsibilities may not be all-inclusive and can be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as needed
Job Requirements:
- Proficient in SQL
- Proficient in Excel and VBA
- Motivated and self-directed worker
- Prefer candidates with a minimum of 2 years completion of college coursework
- Interests in Finance, Business or Economics preferred
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Ability to share knowledge and work in a team oriented environment
- Strong work ethic and emphasis on attention to details
- Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer
Physical requirements/Working conditions:
- Climate controlled office environment
- Minimal physical requirements other than occasional light lifting of boxed materials
- Dynamic, time-sensitive environment
