Job Summary

DSM Kingstree site is a multi-plant and product site focused on human and animal nutrition. Our processes include algal fermentation, organic solvent extraction, aqueous extraction and refining, bleaching and deodorization.
The digitalization co-op is responsible for supporting data analytics efforts at the site, as well as the development of applications to support digitization of site processes.
Key areas of accountability and responsibility:
· Knows and follows all DSM Life Saving Rules.
· Displays and promotes positive safety behaviors at all times; uses proper personal protective equipment, appropriate safety tools, equipment and procedures to ensure that self and others go home safe each day; that area and equipment operate at the highest safety levels; that all people in the area (fermentation personnel, maintenance, quality, visitors, contractors, etc.) complies with the safety directives and keeps the area neat and clean.
- Responsible to work in a SHE responsible manner and report all SHE incidents, shows leadership by working to SHE standards and encouraging employees to work to the same standards.
Activities will include one or more of the following:
· Develop software applications on Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps, PowerBI, PowerAutomate) to support engineering, operations and logistics activities across the site. (Examples include, but not limited to, Inventory Management App for logistics, Shift Report and scheduling app for logistics, project management software for engineering)
· Develop applications utilizing HTML/CSS/Javascript
· Testing and deploying applications
· Troubleshooting, debugging, maintaining and improving existing software
· Compiling and assessing user feedback to improve software performance
· Developing technical documentation to guide future software development projects
· Collaborating with management, departments and customers (operations) to identify end-user requirements and specifications
· Generate Logical Data Models for site data sources
· Work with operations & engineering to identify digital solutions to manual processes
· Assist with implementation and maintenance of data architecture within AWS (Amazon Web Services)
· Work with teams within an Agile Scrum framework to deliver software applications in Sprints
· Design, Develop & Document databases to support software applications
· Support process engineers with the collection, scrubbing and analysis of data using lean six sigma tools
· Design, develop and support Extract, Load, Transform (ELT) processes for data analytics purposes
· Training end users
· Support site advanced data analytics efforts as necessary by processing data or developing visualizations in Python, Tableau or PowerBI
· Build, train & deploy machine learning models for the purpose of improving plant processes
Required Education/Experience
· Candidate for bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering, or Computer Science. Sophomore (2nd year) level preferred.
· Technical knowledge to perform responsibilities with minimal supervision.
· Must have excellent math, oral / written communication, interpersonal, trouble shooting, time management, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Qualifications
· Knowledgeable of Python
· Knowledgeable of HTML/CSS/Javascript
· Experience with APIs
· Familiarity with Git
