Office of On Your Time Initiatives

 
Title: Instructional Development Associate
Start Date: June 1 - August 15, 2023
Commitment: up to 20 hours/week
Location: Remote | Training will be provided on campus

Pay: $20/hour, with no benefits provided
 
Position:
On Your Time Initiatives (OYT) at the University of South Carolina is seeking someone to provide instructional design and course development support to faculty teaching online during Winter Session. This position will work across multiple units to be able to accomplish the project.
 
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • As assigned by the supervisor, assist faculty members with the planning and development of instructional materials for online courses in Blackboard to complete quality reviews.
  • Provide administrative and project management assistance to help coordinate support and prepare for quality reviews.
  • As directed by the supervisor, assist in coordinating with college and university offices regarding technical, production, and related support for faculty developing online courses.

Minimum Qualification:
  • Graduate student in educational technology or a closely related field.
  • 1 year of teaching experience and 1 year of experience in instructional design or course development support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in instructional design and technology tools, including Blackboard, PowerPoint, MS Teams, Zoom, etc.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience and proficiency in creating and captioning lecture videos, designing collaborative assignments using Blackboard Collaborate, making documents accessible, and/or creating accessible voiceover PowerPoint presentations.
  • Experience in online teaching, instructional design, and course development.
