Job Title:  Morning Preschool Teacher

Hours per week: FULL TIME/ PART TIME Monday - Friday positions available Early 2024

Compensation: $15 - $18/hr, based on experience

Reports to: COLA Director- Tara Pope & Owner-Calla Chow  

Primary Objective of Job:  We are looking for a qualified Preschool Teacher to prepare small children for kindergarten by easing them into organized education. You will teach them important elements that will inspire lifelong love for learning. Teachers primary responsibilities are to lead educational activities, teach Kids Garden curriculum and collaborate with our team to maintain a solid preschool program.  Preschool teachers will run circle time, implement daily creative hands-on activities, follow a consistent daily schedule, and teach foundational skills while maintaining enrolled preschool students and engaging drop-in children to the creative arts center. Secondary responsibilities include and are not limited to; use of our software for checking families in and out of the center, high level of customer service and communication with parents, continuing education for self improvement as a teacher, and consistent team work with all teachers in the center and an ability to multitask and come up with creative ideas to enhance the learning environment in order to contribute to the daily activities.

Job Title:  Afternoon Art Lab and Studio Lead Teacher

Hours per week: PART TIME Monday - Friday; position available Early 2024

Compensation: $15 - $18/hr, based on experience

Reports to: COLA Director Tara Pope & Owner-Calla Chow  

Primary Objective of Job:  We are looking for our next all-in team member whose primary responsibilities are to supervise children while leading daily art classes and growing our new Art Lab & Studio Programs. Afternoon teacher will collaborate with an energetic team of teachers, maintain children enrollment and promote all offerings in the afternoon for our After School Program.  Afternoon Art Lab & Studio Teacher will manage an energetic environment with a variety of ages of children and will implement daily creative hands-on activities following Art Lab & Studio curriculum and classes, manage the art and center inventory and ensure daily classes have consistent student enrollment as well as engagement from drop-in children.  Secondary duties include and are not limited to: leading and training teachers, use of Kids Garden software, high level of customer service and communication with families and team members, ability to multitask and come up with creative ideas to enhance the learning environment and contribute to the daily activities.

Job Requirements: Required Abilities/Skills

-Highschool diploma

-At least 6 months previous experience in childcare center 

-Enjoys working with children

-Has an understanding and love of art and creativity in education

-Has tons of energy and an infectious happy demeanor

-Confidence in guiding and leading children's classes and activities using Kids Garden curriculum and sharing new ideas to implement

-Ability to follow daily programs that support intellectual, emotional, and physical development 

-Must be able to take initiative, be a problem solver and solution innovator

-Must be able to adapt to change quickly and shift gears from one task to another when staffing needs change and capacity of children in the center change

-Must have excellent people and communication skills and be a true advocate for Kids Garden

-Must have excellent classroom management skills, attention to needs of children and ability to adjust lessons/activities based on ages and skill level of children

-Has a sense of awareness and safety is top priority

-Ability to multitask and jump in wherever help may be needed

-Ability to be on time, self-motivate and work at a steady pace with a positive attitude

-Ability to follow directions, multitask and manage Kids Garden schedule efficiently

-Ability to keep calm and stay focused in stressful situations and busy times 

-Ability to lift, bend, squat, and carry 50 lbs +

-Ability to take instruction from Director and teacher team members

-Ability to work independently and as part of a team

-Ability to communicate with team members and families effectively and kindly

-Ability to keep busy and productive in slow times
