What I liked
It gave me a realistic expectation of documentation and other law enforcement duties, especially documentation of evidence and chain of custody.
What I wish was different
Nothing, it was a good experience.
Advice
Make sure you apply attention to detail. Mistakes cause big issues.

Student Intern
May - August 2018 • Edina, MN
What I liked
The large breadth of experiences I was able to gain through the internship. A large part of the internship is shadowing federal agents and that was the most valuable to me.
What I wish was different
I wish I could've had a fellow intern! Or I wish I was paid.
Advice
One piece of advice for those who want to intern with USPIS is that you will get out of the internship what you put into it. If you want an internship where you are given things to do and aren't personally motivated, this isn't for you. Set high goals for yourself and execute those goals, and this will be an invaluable experience to you.

Intern
August - December 2017 • Phoenix, AZ
What I liked
There are many things I liked about this internship. But, the biggest one was that every inspector made time to talk to me. They all, wanted to teach me their field. I was able to work in the fields of mail fraud, drugs, and all other daily logistics of the Postal Inspectors Service.
What I wish was different
The only thing I didn't like, was the parking. Everything else was great.
Advice
Get ready to work. Get ready to write reports. Get ready to learn everything about the Postal Service.
